I was born in San Antonio, Texas, but raised in El Paso, Texas.  I am a proud resident of this sun city and have chosen to pursue my studies, my career and raise my own family here. I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and American Literature.  I began teaching high school English with the Socorro Independent School District in July 2008.  For the past four years, I have been specifically assigned to teach AP Literature & Composition and British Literature, both senior level courses.  In the Summer of 2014, the district began an initiative to bring more dual credit courses to the high schools.  In January 2015, I was selected as a candidate  to receive a full scholarship to pursue my Masters degree in order to be qualified to teach these courses.  I am currently re-enrolled at UTEP and pursuing my Master of Arts degree in Rhetoric and Writing Studies.  I am fascinated with the new wealth of knowledge I am receiving, and I am eagerly working on implementing my studies into my classroom.
